Up to Speed sessions

We have a plan to have 6-8 "Up to Speed" sessions on the first day of NetHui.
These would be about half an hour long and enable people to get "up to speed" on a topic so that when they get to a related discussion session they have a better opportunity to understand and contribute to the discussion.
Topics might include Copyright, Privacy and more...
We are looking for suggestions for these topics and offers to prepare the material and present.

Hi Kevin

We've had a number of 101 suggestions on the mailing list and directly:
Multicast, UFB, Infrastructure, Copyright, Privacy, Human Rights, Internet, ISP, Inernet Economics, TPP, Legislation, Internet Entrepreneurship.
I've added Accessibility to this proposed list. Some of these can be merged and some will be culled, down to between 6 and 8 sessions.

How about a technology primer session explaining the different access technologies, what they do, what are the limitations and where they best apply. ie Fibre, Radio, 3G, 4G etc etc.

Agile Networks would be pleased to host the session.

The 'up to speed' sessions sound like a great idea for the less initiated like myself! Will there be something posted before the day so people can see what sessions are being offered?

Yes, just check the programme page to see what Up to Speed sessions are currently planned, subject to confirming volunteer presenters.
The Up to Speed sessions are all on Day 1 in Room 4 - http://2014.nethui.org.nz/programme

There are a couple of other ideas proposed and any additional ideas we'll see if we can fit them in and find a presenter.
