Digital Inclusion Meetup to tackle the Auckland digital divide

The 2020 Trust is hosting a Digital Inclusion Meetup at NetHui 2014 on 10 July 2014.

Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city with 1.5 million people (37% of whom come from overseas). Auckland’s size and diversity mean that, while the challenges it faces are similar to other parts of New Zealand, the scale often makes it harder to address these challenges.

Our Digital Inclusion Meetup this year, being held as part of NetHui 2014, aims to draw on digital inclusion initiatives from around the country and consider how these can be scaled up as possible solutions for connecting the 23% of Auckland households who do not have access to the internet and who may not have the skills or confidence to use the internet.
